The hem and the train take the worst of it. Grass, mud, asphalt and the grey line that comes from a reception floor are treated individually before the gown goes anywhere near a cleaning cycle, because a general clean sets them permanently.

Bring it in as soon as you can after the wedding. Time is the thing that turns a removable stain into a permanent one, and a gown that sat in a garment bag for two years is a harder job than one that came in on the Monday.

How soon after the wedding should I bring my dress in?+

As soon as you reasonably can. Sugar, champagne and perspiration are colorless when fresh and turn brown as they oxidize, so the gown that comes in the week after is a straightforward job and the one that comes in two years later may not be fully recoverable.

Do you clean gowns you did not sell or alter?+

Yes. Most of the gowns we clean were bought elsewhere. Bring it in and we will inspect it and tell you what we can and cannot get out before you commit to anything.
