Metrocrest keeps a full-time tailor on site. Your garment stays in our building, the person doing the work can see it on you at fitting, and adjustments happen in days, not weeks.

What we alter

• Hemming — pants, skirts, dresses, sleeves. Including blind hems on dress trousers and proper finishing on jeans that keeps the original hem look.
• Taking in and letting out — waists, jackets, dress bodices, to fix fit after weight changes or off-the-rack sizing gaps.
• Suit and jacket tailoring — sleeve length, jacket taper, shoulder adjustments for a clean line.
• Repairs — zipper replacement, seam repair, button work, lining repair, patching.
• Formalwear and bridal — handled by the same in-house team, coordinated with cleaning when needed.

Why fit is worth paying for

Tailoring is the cheapest way to make clothes you already own look dramatically better. An off-the-rack jacket that fits in the shoulders but billows at the waist looks like a borrowed jacket; taken in an inch, it looks made for you. Trousers hemmed to the right break change how an entire outfit reads. People routinely spend money on new clothes when a $15–$30 alteration on what they own would have a bigger effect.

How fittings work

For anything beyond a simple hem, we fit the garment on you. Bring the shoes you will wear with trousers or a gown — heel height changes hem length — and wear or bring the undergarments you will wear with a fitted dress, since those change how it sits. We pin to your body, mark, and give you a ready date. Complex work may need a second fitting to confirm before final stitching, which is exactly the kind of care a mail-out alterations service cannot offer.

Clean and alter in one trip

Hours are Monday through Friday 7 AM to 6 PM, Saturday 8 AM to 5 PM, closed Sunday — and the drop box covers everything in between.

A practical tip from our team

Bring the shoes you will actually wear when you come in for any hem — it is the single most common reason a hem comes out wrong. For jackets and dresses, wear or bring the layers you will wear underneath. And do not wait until the week you need something altered; even simple work is better done with a little margin in case it needs a small adjustment.
